The School of Buddhist Studies and Civilization facilitates the programs leading to doctoral degrees in Buddhist Languages and Literature and Buddhist Civilization and Culture. Following are the eligibility criteria and requirements to obtain Ph.D. degree from the School of Buddhist Studies and Civilization:

Name of the Program: Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies and Civilization

Duration: 3 year (6 Semesters)

Minimum Qualification for Admission: Postgraduate Degree with minimum 55% for Gen/OBCs and 50% for SCs/STs is required to be eligible to apply for the admission. However, the admission will be based on merit and candidates will be selected as per the guidelines of the UGC and availability of vacant seats under the faculty members. Reservations in the admission will be fulfilled as per the Government policy.

Total Required Credits: 14 credits are required from the coursework.

Courses work for Ph.D. Program*:

All students enrolled in Ph.D. programs are required to opt for the following mandatory courses. In order to proceed to research on a specific topic with the consultation of a Supervisor, students are expected to do the course work.
